THE DIAMOND COMES FIRST
Every engagement ring begins with a stone.
The certificate provides essential information, but it cannot describe the presence of a diamond. Two stones may share the same shape, carat weight and grade, yet appear entirely different once they are seen. This is why a D Flawless diamond is not automatically the best choice for an engagement ring.

You are not limited to what happens to be available on the day of your appointment.
The search may begin before you travel. Certificates and detailed videos can be shared remotely, with precise comparisons to help you consider each possibility as carefully as you would in person.
WHEN THE DIAMOND DOES NOT YET EXIST
Sometimes the search reveals that the diamond you have in mind cannot be found among the stones currently available.
With sufficient time, a natural diamond can be cut specifically for you in Antwerp.
You may be looking for an unusual length-to-width ratio or a particular outline. In other cases, it is the character of the facet pattern that cannot be found among existing stones. The available material must first be studied to determine what can be achieved while preserving the diamond’s beauty.
This is a decision made for one ring.
Once completed, the diamond travels to Paris. Its exact measurements then become the starting point for the setting created around it.
TIME CHANGES EVERYTHING
Time does not appear in the finished ring, yet it changes everything that can be achieved.
A classic solitaire may sometimes be created in a single day. With several weeks, the diamond search can travel further and the atelier can consider a more elaborate design. There may also be enough time to have a stone cut specifically for you rather than choosing from what already exists.
Our Made to Measure engagement rings are made to order and normally require 30 days, excluding weekends and public holidays. A bespoke creation or a specially cut diamond may require a different schedule.
If your journey to Paris is already planned, we work backwards from the date on which the ring must be in your hands.
More time does not mean adding detail without purpose. It gives us the freedom to refuse a stone that is almost right and wait for the one that truly belongs in the ring.
Perfection sometimes takes time because it requires the freedom not to compromise.
WHAT MAKES A RING PARISIAN
A diamond does not become a Parisian engagement ring simply because it is collected in Paris.
That happens in the atelier.
Paris has long been one of the world’s centres of fine jewellery craftsmanship. That standard depends on the precision of its artisans and their understanding of proportion.
Once the diamond is chosen, its measurements guide the construction of the setting. The goldsmith works the metal around the design. Once the setter has secured the stone, the polisher completes the ring by hand.
The result is found in details that may not be immediately visible, yet become essential when a ring is worn every day. The ring must feel balanced and comfortable, with the diamond held so naturally that the setting seems to belong to that stone alone.
This is the difference between adapting a diamond to an existing setting and creating the setting for that diamond.
PARIS, WITHOUT THE CLICHÉS
Paris does not need to be engraved on the ring to be present in it.
It is there in the restraint of the design and in the work of the artisans who created it. It remains in the memory of the appointment and the moment the ring was finally revealed.
Our Made to Measure engagement rings carry the names of Parisian neighbourhoods because each part of the city has its own character. These names connect the designs to the place in which they were imagined.
A ring chosen from stock may be exactly right, but a ring created around one diamond tells a different story.
It was selected for one person, made in the city where you chose to ask the question.
FROM YOUR FIRST CONVERSATION TO PARIS
You do not need to be in Paris for the work to begin.
Contact us as soon as your travel dates are known. During a video consultation, we will discuss the diamond and the design, taking into account the time available.
We can begin the search before you arrive. When the selected diamond is located outside Paris, its journey to the atelier can be arranged in advance. If a specially cut stone is being considered, the cutting time will be included in the schedule.
You may visit the atelier by appointment when you reach Paris, or complete the selection remotely if an appointment would risk revealing the surprise.
By the time you arrive, the most important decisions may already have been made.
THE MOMENT IN YOUR HANDS
The finished ring can be collected directly from our atelier in the 9th arrondissement.
If the proposal must remain entirely secret, the Diamond Concierge can arrange a discreet handover at your hotel or another agreed address in Paris. The ring reaches you without appearing among the luggage or being discovered too soon.
Some clients come to us for the ring alone. Others ask the Diamond Concierge to prepare the proposal around it.
What can be arranged will depend on your wishes and the time available, as well as the availability of our partners in Paris. Nothing is promised before it has been confirmed.

A ring created in this way does not require you to spend several weeks in the city. Much of the work can take place before your arrival.
If your proposal is only a few days away, call us as early as possible. Depending on the stone and design, and on the atelier’s capacity, a classic engagement ring may still be created within the day.
A selection of Ready-to-Wear engagement rings is also available when a completed ring is the most appropriate answer.
